Are you going on a vacation?

Choose Travel-Friendly Instruments.

Some instruments make the perfect travel partner as they are a delight to the ears. These travel-friendly instruments will be lightweight and compact. For example, it becomes difficult to carry a grand piano around with you while travelling but a ukulele turns out to be perfect for travelling as it doesn’t add much weight but adds to countless singalongs.

Some travel-friendly instruments are listed below:

  • Guitar
  • Ukulele
  • Mandolin
  • Banjo
  • Harmonica

  • Flute

Extra Padding.

If you wouldn’t trust your instrument case to stand up to that with the instrument intact, do not bring it to the airport unless you are 100% sure that you can carry it on.

Trust me this is one of the most important tips doing this alone will reduce the likelihood of your instrument getting all scratched up and from banging as it dances around from place to place. Use towels or cloths to wrap your instrument it so that it creates a cushion for the instrument and also acts as a protective layer for the instrument. Doing this one small thing will help to prevent your instrument from banging and destroying itself.

Climate.

For many varied instruments—such as guitars, violins, and clarinets—builders are hard pressed to find a better sounding and feeling material than wood. There’s a certain intangible organic quality to the sound produced from fine wooden instruments that can’t yet be matched by synthetic materials. Having said that humidity and climate change may hamper with the sound of your instrument and therefore carry a small humidifier or some time of alternative to keep the sound of your instrument intact.

Loosen the strings.

As temperature drops, guitar strings contract, increasing tension on the neck, bridge, and soundboard. Slightly detuning the guitar may help compensate for this increase. If nothing else, decreasing string tension may help reduce the risk of damage, should the case take a direct hit.

Rent your preferred instrument and take a trip to unwind from all the stress gripping you!
