Blues
Music Gives Me the Blues “The Blues are the roots; everything else is the fruits”-Willie Dixon. The blues has deep roots in American history, particularly African-American history. How can something so simple become a massive tree whose roots transcended through different genres. W.C. Handy, “the father of the Blues,” brought the Blues to the mainstream in 1912 with the hit “Memphis Blues.” After the public heard the twelve-note structure with the deep bass lines, the tree began to bear fruit.
Classical Music

Country Music
country music has a rich aroma of the feelings and sentiments of a rural image; it reminds us of the mountains, lush green meadows, the beautiful little country house, yellow sunshine, and happy people and the guitar.
Electronic Dance Music
The popularity of EDM increased globally, largely in Australia and the United States. By the early 2010s, the term “electronic dance music” and the initialism “EDM” was being pushed by the American music industry and music press in an effort to rebrand American rave culture. Despite the industry’s attempt to create a specific EDM brand, the initialism remains in use as an umbrella term for multiple genres, including house, techno, trance, drum and bass, and dubstep, as well as their respective subgenres.
Hip Hop / Rap
Hip hop as both a musical genre and a culture was formed during the 1970s when block parties became increasingly popular in New York City, particularly among African-American youth residing in the Bronx. At block parties DJs played percussive breaks of popular songs using two turntables and a DJ mixer to be able to play breaks from two copies of the same record, alternating from one to the other and extending the “break”.
Indie Pop
Indie pop (also typeset as indie-pop or indie-pop) is a music genre and subculture that combines guitar pop with a DIY ethic in opposition to the style and tone of mainstream pop music.
K-pop
K Pop is well known for its unique, extravagant, and eye-popping personalities. K Pop stars, or “idols” as they are usually known in Asia, have a knack for truly standing out from the crowd and taking self-expression to a new level.
Jazz
1920 was termed as the “jazz age”. The new upbeat and exuberant style of music attracted many young people looking for the change. Jazz broke the customary rules of classical music and allowed musicians to improvise.
Opera
Opera is a combination of drama and music. Like drama, opera embraces the entire spectrum of theatrical elements: dialogue, acting, costumes, scenery, and action, but it is the sum of all these elements, combined with music, which defines the art form called opera.
Operatic dramas are usually serious, but there are several comic operas and funny scenes in tragic operas. The music is usually complicated and difficult to sing well.
